Dogs have become cherished members of our families, seamlessly integrated into our daily lives and routines. Our love for them runs deep, yet we often overlook their most fundamental needs. All too often, their well-being takes a backseat to the demands of human life. And while we may provide the basics we tend to neglect the deeper, more essential needs that truly support their health and happiness. Dogs have a remarkable way of teaching us about compassion, presence, and responsibility. Perhaps they’re in our lives not just for companionship, but to remind us of what it means to care selflessly and live with intention. In this TEDxOldHickory talk Ali Hemyari, a world renowned dog training expert, shares firsthand insights drawn from working with thousands of dogs - including specialized working breeds and law enforcement canines. Ali Hemyari is a dynamic and accomplished entrepreneur, having founded multiple successful companies within and outside of the pet industry. As a recognized dog training expert, Ali has transformed the lives of countless dogs and owners with innovative training and a deep understanding of canine behavior. A devoted husband and father, he is committed to living a life guided by faith and leading by example. Ali is the author of two inspiring books, with a diverse set of skills that includes flying helicopters and airplanes, in addition to being a highly trained SWAT operator and sniper. Beyond business, Ali gives back to his community by commanding two divisions for different police departments and volunteering hundreds of hours each year. He also hosts fundraisers benefiting impactful organizations like Make-A-Wish. In his spare time, Ali enjoys competing in triathlons, his love for martial arts and continually pushing his limits. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
