The Reclining Buddha at Wat Lokaya Sutha (วัดโลกยสุธา) in Ayutthaya (อยุธยา),fully known as Wat Lokayasutharam (วัดโลกยสุธาราม) and Phra Nakhon Sri Ayutthaya (พระนครศรีอยุธยา), is one of the largest and most significant representations of the Buddha in a reclining posture within the Ayutthaya Historical Park. Measuring approximately 37 metres in length and 8 metres in height, the statue is constructed from brick and covered with stucco, exemplifying traditional construction techniques of the late Ayutthaya period. This image of the Buddha, depicted in the parinirvana (ปรินิพพาน) posture, symbolizes his transition into Nirvana, a central concept in Theravada Buddhism. The Buddha's head is gently supported by his right hand, resting upon a lotus-shaped pillow, while his expression conveys serenity and detachment. The statue is often draped with a saffron cloth as part of ongoing devotional practices, signifying reverence and merit-making rituals. Wat Lokaya Sutha, now in ruins, is believed to have been part of a larger monastic complex, possibly associated with Wat Phra Si Sanphet (วัดพระศรีสรรเพชญ์) and Wat Worachettharam (วัดวรเชษฐาราม).
