Carbon Filters are used to remove toxic gases, hazardous fumes, and odors. These are constructed from high-quality carbon granules or pellets and durable chemical-resistant cases. How to properly use a carbon filter? 1. Make sure that a filter has the right amount of carbon. All Scholz Nanocarb ™ activated carbon filters are constructed to ensure maximum filter efficiency. Retention capacity and operator protection. Each filter is compacted with the right way of carbon granules to ensure long filter life. 2. Airflow is the vital key. Carbon filters are used in airflow containment equipment such as ductless fume hoods and storage cabinets. This equipment has the right airflow of 0.4 m/s to remove the hazardous fumes from the work zones. The airflow guarantees operator protection. 3. Follow Filter replacement Recommendations. Carbon filters may become saturated over time. If this happens, it will not be effective in removing toxic odors. Changing carbon filters according to manufacturer’s guidelines. Esco’s Nanocarb™ filters are estimated to last up to 12 months or more, depending on the usage. 4. Store Filter Properly. Keep filters in their original containers. Do not remove it from the packaging if it will not be used immediately. If there’s no packaging, keep them in airtight containers or plastic bags to preserve the carbon granules. 5. Keep Filters Away from Humidity. Always store in a cool dry place. Carbon filters may absorb moisture that will result in saturation. The shelf life of properly stored carbon filters is estimated to last from 3 to 5 years. Filters may be stored at ambient temperatures. 6. Keep away from direct sunlight.
