WHY? Why does photography matter? Why do photographers matter? Is there depth and purpose to spending a life pursuing capturing the lives of the people around us and if so - why? Alison Conklin is not only a Fujifilm X Photographer, an award winning Philly based wedding photographer with over 20 years of experience, she is also one to totally wear her heart on her sleeve. Her story as a photographer started after the tragic loss of her mom as a child and that early experience has informed so much about the value of the photographs she is asked to capture for her clients. This interview was a personal one for me filled with emotion and depth and even a few tears but more so with the vulnerability of an artist who has devoted her life to helping preserve moments for other people and a keen sense of why all of that matters so much.
