The oldest permanent traces of settlement in the Stein am Rhein area date back to the 5th millennium BC. Zum Raben - House "At the Raven". The bay window is noteworthy. Massive, decorated with consoles and images of a black raven. The unauthorized construction of this bay window in 1707 caused the so-called bay window dispute, which led to the construction of two additional bay windows on the houses Zum Hirschen and Zur Krone.
