My thoughts on gun violence as a surgeon

Most of my peers in many countries around the world have nowhere near the experience we do treating and managing gsws. I would love for residents in the US to not have to learn about them either. The reality is we can make this all different. We don't have to live like this. All we have to do is decide we don't want to. We are not scared enough of how the ease of accessing guns is affecting our lives. Gun violence is the number one cause of death among children in this country. That we allow something preventable to traumatize and kill our children is unconscionable.
