James R Barker’s last run 1 day before the Soo Locks closed for winter maintenance

James R Barker is the 3rd Great Lakes Footer built, and was the first ever completely constructed on the Great Lakes. The first two footers were untraditional - the Cort was sailed in as just the bow and stern sections where the cargo area was added, and the Presque Isle is an ITB (integrated tug + barge). As the 3rd footer on the lakes, the Barker set the groundwork for all future footers which would follow her in having a 5-story superstructure on the stern of the ship. All footage was shot by myself using my DJI Mavic 3 Classic on January 14, 2025 just 1 day before the Soo Locks close for winter maintenance. They are expected to re-open March 25, 2025 to start the 2025 shipping season. Unfortunately as I take-off my drone from Canada, it's hard for me to get drone footage as well as audio of the #BarkerBark. There are plenty of great recordings, I wish I could have gotten one myself but perhaps that will have to wait until later this year.
