Calitz concedes to omissions, misrepresentations

Hawks investigating officer Capt. Benjamin Calitz conceded under cross-examination that there may have been some omissions and misrepresentations in efforts to extradite Moroadi Cholota, the former PA to ex-Free State premier Ace Magashule. Under oath, Calitz said Cholota’s affidavit filed before the State Capture Commission may have not included information provided to US officials despite its contents possibly being able to sway the extradition proceedings in her favour. He also conceded that some misrepresentations may have occurred regarding the state’s claims that Cholota evaded law enforcement. However, he maintained that such conduct was never intentional.
