Uber Boat by Thames Clippers: A UK First – in Aluminium | The Element of Choice

A new chapter in river transport begins on the Thames. The UK’s first fully electric river ferry sets a new course for zero emission transport in London. Battery-powered and built in Britain, this technological advance has been enabled by the lightweight properties of aluminium, allowing the vessel to be fitted with sufficient battery power to run for 18 hours without a charge. The Orbit Clipper will soon take passengers across the Thames between Canary Wharf and Rotherhithe and is the latest addition to Thames Clippers’ evolving fleet.
