Spitfire (World's Tallest Inversion!) - Six Flags Qiddiya City 4K60 POV

Spitfire is a swing-launched Intamin coaster with a backwards spike and then a 240ft inverted top-hat, which is the world's tallest inversion. What's insane is that this ride is so massively dwarfed by Falcon's Flight that you really can't appreciate how big this ride is in and of itself. The closest comparisons for this ride are likely to be Pantheon and Toutatis, though both of them have more complete ride layouts after their (non-inverted) top-hats. But in some respects, it's actually more akin to Top Thrill 2. I think Spitfire handles the swing launch and spike parts of the ride better than all of the above, with a nice airtime hill along the launch track. You may not get as much of a sense of speed as you do with Top Thrill 2's final launch, but the launches are much punchier and more intentional-feeling, and the ride is much smoother as well. Unlike the nonsense that a ride like Ice Breaker does where the airtime moments along the swing launch track get way too aggressive and unpleasant, Spitfire's are quite nice. I also think Spitfire has a really solid backwards spike. And then once you get to the top-hat, I was very pleasantly surprised to find that has some really nice hangtime through that element, as well as airtime as you drop back down. And then to cap things off, you get a nice pop of airtime coming into the brake run. A lot of folks will write this off as a short, gimmicky coaster, but actually I quite enjoyed it! I think it was my 2nd favorite ride in the park after Falcon's Flight. It may not be terribly long, but everything it does, it does very well, and I was happy to ride it over and over again! Spitfire is located at Six Flags Qiddiya City about 90 minutes outside Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. I had the opportunity to visit on January 29-30 and February 1, 2026.
