Is the 2013 Cadillac XTS Luxury a Grandpa Car or a Hidden Gem? Full Tour & Review

We've stumbled upon another low-mileage decades old Cadillac, this time the full-size flagship sedan of GM's luxury brand. How has the 2013 Cadillac XTS Luxury stood up over time? We find out! For more information about this vehicle or the other cars available at Disbrowe Cadillac in St Thomas, please visit http://www.disbrowecadillac.com If we had a nickel for every time we've driven a low-mileage 2013 Cadillac sedan on this show we'd have $0.10. This week we're behind the wheel of this extremely well maintained 2013 Cadillac XTS Luxury Collection sedan, finished in White Diamond Tricoat with the Shale leather interior and Sapele wood trim. This vehicle has under 33,000 kms on it with most of the service done at Cadillac. The interior and exterior of this car are superb, with next to no work needing to be done, we didn't even vacuum it before filming it. For 2013 Cadillac introduced this Canadian-made XTS, or X-Series Touring Sedan replacing the STS and DTS all at once. The XTS was the largest Cadillac sedan available until the introduction of the all-new CT6 which we featured several times on TestDrive. The XTS was available in FWD like ours, or AWD, along with a V-Sport model that came with a more powerful turbocharged V6 engine. Our 2013 XTS has the 3.6 LFX High Feature V6 engine. We take some time to go over the features and tech found on this 2013 Cadillac XTS Luxury Collection and some of the reasons why you might want to consider this car in 2023. Built on a long wheelbase version of GM's Epsilon II platform shared with the Chevrolet Impala we drove in 2018, this Cadillac comes with many features that might surprise you. Features like front Brembo brakes, Magnetic Ride Control, active noise cancellation, and a UV laminated front windshield help set this sedan apart from others. The interior of this Cadillac is pretty typical for the era, similar to the 2013 Cadillac ATS 3.6L we drove earlier this year, along with the 2018 Cadillac Escalade we drove when new. We discuss some of the limitations of the interior along with our overall thoughts on this full-size sedan. We then take the 2013 Cadillac XTS on the road to talk about how this car drives, handles, and rides, along with the overall comfort and quietness of this sedan. We talk about some of the reasons why you might want to consider this car today and some areas that this vehicle falls short in. We wrap up our episode with a Buyer's Guide on the first, and only generation Cadillac XTS including common problems and issues found with this vehicle. No red flags necessarily exist, but air suspension issues, transmission shuddering, and electronic gremlins can hamper your ownership experience. As always we recommend having any vehicle thoroughly inspected by a trusted mechanic before committing to anything.
