Should a mediator bring all parties back together if there is still no agreement? Maybe, but this should be on a case-by-case basis. A mediator's first reaction should be not to bring parties back together, but follow your experience and mediator's instincts based on the temperature and climate of the mediation. Mediators should generally be very careful and strategic about when to bring back together from Caucus. And always keep in mind party self-determination by asking the other party how they feel about coming back together before you do so if you think it might be appropriate. Bringing parties back together before they have come to agreement if issues are still contentious can many times be counter productive. Remember, mediation is an Art form and not a science. #mediationselfdetermination #mediationcaucus #artofmediation
