Another version of "Eli Refaeini" ("God, Heal Me") performed by the world-music ethno-classic ensemble Tikra Li Sihara ("Call Me Moon") - this time without percussion - to Rabbi Yehuda Ha'Levi's text. Rabbi Yehuda Ha'Levi (c. 1075 in Toledo Spain - 1141 Jerusalem) was one of the greatest Middle Ages poets and philosophers, aside being a physician. His Arabic name was Abu El-Khasan El-Lawi. As a poet he was known especially for his religious and love songs. One can see his marble statue (among others) in Ralli Museum 2, Caesarea, which commemorates the golden-age of the Jewish Sefaradi in Spain. The translation below does no justice to the pleading-prayer notion in the antique Hebrew, based on Psalm: A - God, heal me, and I'll be healed. B- Don't be angry, (and in one Hebrew word:) and it will be the end of me. My drugs (e.g. medicine) and pharmacy are for you, if good or bad, strong or weak. A - You are the one who will chose, and not me. B - On your knowledge the ugly and the beauty. Not upon my medicine am I leaning, only towards your healing am I looking forward (in Hebrew: also anticipating).
