In this explore, we travel into the heart of an abandoned nuclear power plant that was canceled in the early 1980's. This facility neighbors a federal prison and has rolling security around the perimeter, so making it inside was no small task. Once inside, we discover that nature has slowly been taking over and this once promise of clean energy stands only as a reminder of past engineering. Giant concrete slabs filled with rebar look almost out of this world while walking through here. Rusted reactor cores overgrown with vines sit like monuments from another life. A cooling tower touches the edge of the sky overlooking the entire complex like some sort of guardian watch tower. If there was ever an explore that we were intimidated by, this was the place. Dangerous falls around every turn and the sheer size of the whole facility alone was enough to make someone shy away, but at the same time something was calling us in.
