Two men have been arrested after a car crashed through an intersection and critically injured pedestrians outside Flinders Street station in Melbourne in what police described as a 'deliberate act'. Police initially said they had not evidence or intelligence to indicate a connection with terrorism. The driver, an Australian citizen of Afghan descent, had a history of drug use and mental health issues, police  said. The premier of Victoria, Daniel Andrews, said 19 people had been admitted to hospital, including the alleged offender.
