Bangalore - Mangalore New Train. A new Tri-Weekly Express Train has been introduced between Mangalore - Yesvantpur to serve the increasing demands of the Night passengers travelling to and from Coastal Karnataka Region to Bangalore. The new Tri Weekly Express departs Yesvantpur at 4:30 PM on Tuesday , Thursday and Sundays and reaches Mangalore at 4:00 AM next day. The train takes almost 12 hours for a mere 413 KM, not sure how helpful this would be to the passengers. Timings are more convenient for passengers boarding from Hassan. In return the train departs Mangalore at 7:00 pm and reaches Yesvantpur at 5:00 AM next day. The return run takes 10 hours slightly better compared to the onward. The train has stoppages at Nelamangala, Yediyuru, Shravanabelagola, Chanarayanapatna, Hassan, Saklekshpur, Subhramanya , Puttur , BC Road and Kankanady in both directions.
