Northgate Junior Varsity Broncos Stymied By Liberty March 5, 2026 vs. Liberty Northgate Junior Varsity Broncos had trouble keeping up with Liberty in a 17-0 loss on Thursday at Northgate High School. Liberty got on the board in the top of the first inning after Bellow drew a walk, scoring one run, Lopez grounded out, scoring one run, Franklin drew a walk, scoring one run, Pastor singled, scoring one run, Mason was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, and Rhoden tripled, scoring three runs. Liberty added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Northgate Junior Varsity Broncos dropped a third strike, and Pastor grounded out, each scoring one run. Liberty scored seven runs on five hits in the top of the third inning. Postiglione doubled, scoring two runs, an error scored one run, Lopez scored after tagging up, Mason singled, scoring one run, and Mercado singled, scoring two runs. Parsons started in the circle for Northgate Junior Varsity Broncos. The starting pitcher gave up two hits and eight runs over one-third of an inning, striking out none and walking four. Franklin started in the circle for Liberty. The starter surrendered two hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out three and walking one. Durbin and Oberbruner were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected one hit for Northgate Junior Varsity Broncos while hitting back-to-back. Mercado and Rhoden were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Liberty while hitting back-to-back. Pastor and Rhoden each drove in three runs for Liberty. Franklin, Contreras, and Rhoden each stole multiple bases for Liberty. Liberty worked the count all day, piling up five walks. Liberty ran wild on the base paths, tallying 12 stolen bases for the game. Northgate Junior Varsity Broncos will travel to Las Lomas for their next game on Tuesday.
