E-102 (Ｅ－１０２, Ī Ichi-Zero-Ni), codenamed γ or Gamma (ガンマ, Ganma), is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. He was a high-tech marksman assault machine and the second model in the E-100 Series of robots, created by Dr. Eggman during the Chaos incident to aid in the destruction of Station Square. Unlike the other models, however, Gamma's programming featured a critical flaw, which, unknown to Eggman, gave Gamma free will. As a result, after joining the Egg Carrier's elite crew and noticing the doctor's cruelty, Gamma went rogue and abandoned his creator.
