We already know that Inhotim is spectacular. What is just as spectacular as its contemporary artworks are its incredible gardens. In other words, artworks that enhance other artworks. It’s a marvel. The Inhotim Institute is a contemporary art museum and botanical garden located in Brumadinho (MG), Brazil. Inhotim is a private, non-profit entity, maintained through donations from individuals and companies — direct or through federal and state cultural incentive laws — as well as ticket sales and events. Conceived in the 1980s by the businessman from Minas Gerais, Bernardo de Mello Paz, from the iron-rich soil of a local farm emerged, in 2006, one of the largest open-air museums in the world. Its privileged location — between the rich biomes of the Atlantic Forest and Cerrado — and the lush landscapes along the 140 hectares of visitation provide visitors a unique experience that blends art and nature. Around 1,862 works by more than 280 artists from 43 countries make up the collection and are displayed outdoors and in galleries amidst a botanical garden with over 4,300 rare plant species from every continent. The garden for Yayoi Kusama's work was designed jointly by Juliano Borin with master gardener Geraldo Farias and invaluable contributions from Bernardo Paz himself. What a luxury! Visit Inhotim Tuesday to Friday from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM More information at www.inhotim.org.br The music I use comes from a platform called Epidemic Sound.
