Following a series of seizures, Veronique was diagnosed with a cavernoma in her brain. An MRI revealed an abnormal cluster of blood vessels were causing her seizures and risking her life. Dr. Gary Redekop at Vancouver General Hospital performed urgent brain surgery to remove the cavernoma, saving her life. Since then, Veronique has received extensive physical and mental rehabilitation at GF Strong Rehabilitation Centre, and continues to receive regular MRIs to ensure that no new abnormal growths have formed.
