At least three people were killed and 38 were missing under rubble on Tuesday after an under-construction building at the Al Khoziny Islamic boarding school compound collapsed in Indonesia’s East Java province on Monday. Dozens of people were praying on the ground floor of the building when it came crashing down, while construction work was underway for a fourth floor of the structure in the town of Sidoarjo, the disaster mitigation agency said. "The number of students that were on the site were 140, and we've evacuated 102, so there are still 38 stuck under the rubble of the collapsed building," Nanang Sigit, a local search and rescue official, said Around 100 people were rescued, the agency added, with nearly 80 injured who were taken to the hospital. The building's foundations allegedly could not support the weight of the construction on its fourth floor.
