The Future of Defending Israel's Skies

As the field of Remotely Piloted Aerial Vehicles (RPAV) grows rapidly in the aviation world, the Israeli Air Force's very own division of RPAVs continues to expand day by day. The RPAV division is responsible for the majority of the IAF’s operational flight hours. Currently, the IAF operates four types of RPAVs—the "Zik", "Kochav”, "Shoval", and "Eitan"—which are all equipped with advanced systems, making them optimal for executing countless missions within Israel's airspace and beyond. Last week, new RPAV operators joined the lines of the IAF after a six-month-long training process. They are now certified to operate some of the world's most advanced remotely piloted aircraft.
