In this talk, Sahara Basnet analyses different WASH campaigns and delves deeper into the triggers and language used to achieve the campaign objectives with a key question in mind: "What happens to gender roles and relations, especially when it comes to building back better, but different?" Sahara Basnet is a development practitioner with five years of professional experience in program management, research & data analysis, and communications on topics related to gender and WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene). --- TEDxIDS - 16 October 2020 IDS students have come together to organise the first ever TEDxIDS event. Exploring the theme of “Building Back Better, but Different”, this event features different talks to understand what post-Covid development looks like. The talks cover a range of topics, from the gender dynamics in the WASH sector to how development can be more inclusive and more. Sahara Basnet is a development practitioner with five years of professional experience in program management, research & data analysis, and communications on topics related to gender and WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene). She is also the co-founder of Asha; a gender and MHM (menstrual hygiene management) in schools social initiative based in Nepal. She recently completed her degree in Master of Arts in Gender and Development at the Institute of Development Studies.
