Restoring a 100 year old Raleigh High Nelly Ladies bike. I tried to trace this bike for nearly a week now & on the archives I can date it to 1925 I may be wrong if anyone can help identify it the chassis Number is AM 03895. According to the archives the (A) is Pre WWII the (M) I think is Month not a clue could be 100% wrong. the code is before any date registered so It still has a flag of before WWII those dates are 1925. Anything after 1925 is (A W) digits & there 1938 & so on. The bike is I understand to be 100 years of age & I am going to give it a full nut & bolt restoration. As of now I have 30 hours in the bike so far that including picking it up & bringing it home. I have since but not recorded it removed the stuck seat post & BB. I welded an old spanner to the seat post & after some persuasion back & fort for an hour I finally got it out. I had to weld a nut onto the BB then remove it that way this also took me 3 hours. So please pardon why I didn't film it. I did lube them both for 4 days & I still had a fight for 4 hours I did use heat too nothing would work. The frame is actually perfect its just 100 years of dirt on the bike. The rest of the bike however not so great its only fit for the bin you can see in the video. I may yet be able to save the forks I will see what I can do. If not Ill just buy a new one in time. This bike may take me a few months to do I need to locate parts respray it & assemble it again.
