Los Angeles pop duo Capital Cities were guests at the JBTV studio to play their hit song “Safe And Sound”. It is more than likely that you have heard this song and if it isn’t ringing a bell, trust me when I say you have heard this mega-hit song somewhere. For instance, that car commercial with the Bruce Lee Footage? That was “Safe And Sound”. However, before they were being heard all over the place, singer and multi-instumentalist Ryan Merchant and vocalist and keyboardist Sebu Simonian met on Craigslist 2008 when both of them were working as jingle writers. They began working together and released a number of singles and EPs and “Safe And Sound” being one of those singles really put Capital Cities on the map (no pun intended). The hit song was once again featured on their debut album In A Tidal Wave Of Mystery [Capitol] (seriously I swear that’s the label’s name), in 2013.
