The end of October always feels like the end of the year for me in many ways. I'm playing a release show for this song on November 1st at ‪@thehotelcafe5073‬ around 10pm. Wolf Cry is a song I wrote a couple of years ago after visiting a wolf sanctuary with my friend Jackie. I was recovering from being very sick that winter. I wanted to write this song as a calling to people to trust the power of their intuition. I think our bodies know when something is wrong but society conditions us to ignore the signals. Recently, I re-read one of my favorite books "Women who run with the Wolves" by Clarissa Pinkola Estés. She talks about the "wild woman" archetype. It's not what we we expect. She's not a woman with untamed hair hitchhiking her way through life, but rather someone who knows who her tribe is. She doesn't just let anyone in and she actively choses who she wants to belong to. I think wolves can teach us a lot about loyalty, friendship and how to build strong, trusting connections with others.
