Day Trip to Ship Island in Mississippi with MJ and friends. Visit to Fort Massachusetts

We day tripped to Ship Island in Mississippi last weekend with friends. We started out in New Orleans around early in the morning so we can make it out to the ferry before 9am. The ferry takes about 45 minutes to get to the Ship Island. There is a boardwalk that you can take to the opposite side of where the ferry drops you off. They got a nice beach with rental umbrellas and chairs. They also have a snack bar/rental gear place/shop on the island and they have most beach things you need there. We got a chance to visit Fort Massachusetts which is located on the island. Some of the cannons are still there, although some of them are in pieces. It is very nice to be able to climb high on the island and get a good view of the beaches. The water on the beach is not a clear as I thought it would be, but you can still see the fish very clearly on the side where the waves weren't hitting by the boat landing.
