In spring 2009, the members of CAW! CAW! embarked on a cross country road trip from Chicago to LA in order to record their first proper full-length LP which would eventually be named "Bummer Palace". Enlisting Justin Bates who had recently recorded Anavan and was working with Steve Aoki, the band recorded rhythm parts at Infrasonic Sound in LA and finished the tracking at Bates' Silverlake home. After three weeks of dedicated work 7 days a week, the band left LA and Bates went to work on these mixes. As Bates was not able to stay on the project past the summer, the band ended up finishing the album with a new mixer in Chicago. These original mixes, however, present a sharper, more aggressive, and more sparse vision of the song. Five of the album tracks and two unreleased songs are included here. The other five album tracks' early mixes could not be located at present.
