This performance was presented during GLAAD's "Together in Pride: You Are Not Alone" livestream on April 26. The performance was subsequently shared on the official GLAAD Twitter account. Salazar and Rodriguez had previously stared in a production of Little Shop at the Pasadena Playhouse from September 17 to October 20, 2019, directed by Mike Donahue and also staring Amber Riley as Audrey II, Kevin Chamberlin as Mr. Mushnik and Matthew Wilkas as Orin. Despite producer interests in transferring the production to London, and Warner Music Group offering the production a cast recording, the 2019 off-Broadway revival, which began previews on the exact same night as the Pasadena production, held exclusive rights to transfers and recordings.
