She is passionate about injustice and having worked as a nurse, she is dedicated to improving access to safe surgery for all. She believes in magical ideas like safe surgery for all. Kirstie Randall comes from England and after graduating as a nurse, she has spent nearly 10 of her 19 years working in Africa with Mercy Ships. She is passionate about injustice and having worked as a nurse, Nursing Supervisor, Hospital Director and now the Medical Capacity Building Director onboard the world’s largest non-governmental Hospital ship, the m/v Africa Mercy, she is dedicated to improving access to safe surgery for all. Her role includes country needs assessment and project design for Mercy Ship’s surgical and medical capacity building programs, as well as establishing both local and international partnerships to ensure that the vast array of capacity building programs are delivered in a sustainable way. Kirstie has learnt so much from the beauty of living and working in Africa and, above all, loves that building relationships supersedes everything else.
