NJOMZA - Over You (Live Performance) Maybe we should thank Mac Miller. Years ago, the "Self Care" star bumped into one of the young singer's YT uploads and signed her to his REMember label - the kick-off to a career that's moved forward ever since. Whoosh, the Chicago novice was off to LA, making inroads with her instantly recognizable talent, and sharing her 2017 EP, 'Sad For You,' with the world. The Kosovo native always had a love of R&B-slanted pop, sometimes moody, sometimes buoyant. From 2020's "Bite" to last year's "Clown" she's had a wise way of riding beats - that voice is supple, and it leads you along as she snakes through the lyrics. Along the way, the power of her writing was recognized as well - it's not everyone who helps Ariana Grande put together modern nuggets such as "7 Rings" and "Thank U, Next." Last spring's 'STAGES' album revealed that she'd sharpened her crafter, but she also managed to widen her sound. Cool dance remixes of "Emotional" showed up, taking a hot track to a hotter zone.
