Cutlass Sparring - Rick vs Nick (at Kings of the North 2023)

Kings of the North is a fantastic HEMA event dedicated to 18th and 19th century military swordsmanship. We of course spent most of our time teaching, training and sparring with fencers from groups acorss other clubs in the UK and Europe, however in this moment of downtime we got some cutlass action in amongst our own members, including some groundwork. The swords used are both full weight and accurate represntations of orignal British figure of eight and 1804 pattern naval cutlasses used throughout the 18th and early 19th century. Hilts by Kraken Swords, blades are Regenyei (rick) and Castille (Nick). As a result these are heavier than most military sabres used today despite their small size, as per the originals.
