Can manufacturers use environmentally friendly plastics? Research is making progress in plastics that rapidly disintegrate to be broken down by nature. Jeff is a professor at the University of Utah in Materials Science and Engineering. He works with polymer materials, and applications of his research are in the biodegradable/sustainable polymer materials; biomedical materials that include soft robotics, sensors, and drug delivery methods; and materials used in skiing, especially as they relate to determining and enhancing glide performance.
