Raw vs jpeg dark image edits A quick video on raw vs jpeg when it comes to editing images that are under exposed. I took a shot of the Tokyo Tower at night hand held at f4, iso 800 and ss 1/20. Though Raw files are larger in file size and cant be used natively, I think that it is definitely better to keep photos as raw files as you will be able to make more significant edits to them later on, especially for under exposed images. I suggest saving the photo in both a jpeg and raw in the camera setting. That way you can always share the jpegs on the fly but retain the uncompressed raw file just in case you want to enhance the image later on. Even if you dont have adobe lightroom, its still better to save and keep these raw image files. Adobe Lightroom is not difficult to use. In fact lightroom is very easy to get started with.
