Lovecraftian Horror: Exploring The Film Adaptations Of H.P. Lovecraft

In this video we will go over Lovecraftian Horrors, H.P. Lovecraft, and the direct, mostly feature, film adaptations of his work. This is the first half of the Lovecraftian/Cosmic Horror script that covers an intro to the genre, a bit about H.P. Lovecraft himself, his writing, a discussion on adapting his works to the screen, and of course going over all of the film adaptations of his work (that I could manage to get my hands on), and then ends with a short segment on short films both adapting lovecraft, and original lovecraftian works. I will be starting my dental extractions on the 26th of November, and most likely having procedures until May of next year. I wanted to have the second part done by the end of November, but given the unavoidable length of the next hiatus, and the ensuing flood of doctors appointments prepping for the extractions, I intend to complete the second part by the end of December and have it up before the new year. It's all filmed, but I need to rethink the order of certain films and scrub through for any needed interjections before I'm unable to speak properly for like half a year. As of writing this, it's the day of upload and after an all-nighter wrangling with the rendering issues that suddenly popped up, I'm watching back to make sure it's all good to go and noticing a few minor-ish issues. The video obviously started out as mainly about cosmic horror and lovecraft on the side, but it shifted very quickly. Despite this, my chapter on "what is cosmic" stayed the same, as well as the focal point for the introduction. Should have caught that earlier and reworked the script to get across Lovecraftian horror at the foreground. Also the original structure would have broken the topics into more digestible pieces, but trying to rush this out for Halloween caused a lot of moving things around to different places and just having to roll with it due to lack of time to step back and mull over decisions.
