Solo Drums - improvisation is the title of this video as I can't think of a better title. Sometimes these improv solos can go for an hour and so I'll clip out a section to post. This video is from the moment I sat down to the moment I "ended" the solo. It's a bit over sixteen minutes but it seemed like the whole thing told a complete albeit abstract story. The drums are recorded with three microphones. There's minimal processing - Reverb and Distortion. No EQ. No Compression. How Rode microphones have achieved the ability to produce quality microphones at a very affordable price, is remarkable. Shout out to #røde. I'm using a pair of Vater 5B drumsticks. I've used Vic Firth Buddy Rich Signature sticks for around 15 years. Every now and then, I'll try a different stick but always end up back at the BR signatures. I do like the feel of these Vater sticks and I'm going to give them a chance. So far so good.
