Does Xiaflex Work for Peyronie's?

Xiaflex is an excellent first-line treatment option for qualified Peyronie's disease patients with curvature between 30 and 90°. Xiaflex involves a series of injections into the penis spread out over several weeks. The medication softens the penile plaque causing the curvature and is effective in about 40 to 65% of patients. Between injections, patients must perform remodeling exercises to stretch and break up the hardened plaque and restore a more normal curvature. Typically, if we see improvement after the first two injections, we continue with Xiaflex as the preferred course of treatment. If we aren't seeing results, we look elsewhere for relief. Remember that a successful course of Xiaflex may not entirely eliminate curvature, but rather the goal is to improve the condition to where a normal sex life could be had.
