Walking Antwerp, Belgium | 4K Tour of the City

Welcome to Antwerp, a fascinating blend of history, culture and modernity in Belgium. Antwerp known as the diamond capital of the world. It's the global hub for the diamond trade, handling approximately 84% of the world's rough diamonds and 50% of all polished diamonds. Besides diamonds Antwerp is considered the birthplace of the Baroque artistic movement. It was home to the renowned Flemish painter Peter Paul Rubens. My walk begins at the Antwerp Central Station and continue along the Meir, Antwerp's most famous shopping street. Then I head to the Groenplaats to visit the Cathedral of Our Lady. This magnificent Gothic Cathedral is one of the tallest in Europe. The height of the tower is 123 meters (404 feet). Climbing to the top offers panoramic views of the city. From the Groenplaats I walk towards the Grote Markt, the central square of Antwerp, known for its stunning architecture and lively atmosphere. I continue my tour along the Scheldt River and pass the Het Steen Castle, a medieval fortress located on the banks of the River. Follow the riverside promenade I get to the MAS Museum (Museum aan de Stroom). This striking contemporary building offers panoramic views of the city and features exhibits on Antwerp's history, art and culture. I end my walking tour at Het Eilandje, a trendy neighborhood with a mix of modern architecture and historic warehouses.
