**Shadow Dancer has admitted to falsely advertising some blade steels. This sword may not be made of the steel advertised in the review. Any opinions expressed in this review related to the steel type should be taken with that in mind. In this video I go through all the options on the Swordis custom katana builder for Shadow Dancer then review the sword I received. If you are interested in getting on like it please look here https://swordis.com/project/shinogi-z... or look around the site here - https://swordis.com/ Save 10% with code "MatthewCustom10" - Please note, this code is not a kickback to me it is all savings for you. Handle/Tsuka Length: 11.25” Blade/Nagasa Length: 31.25” (without habaki) Sori: .752” Moto-haba: 1.242” Motokasane: .257” Saki-haba: .877” Sakikasane: .163” Weight: 2lb 9oz POB: 6.0” from tsuba MSRP: $1246 Notes: 1. The saya (scabbard) that I got on the sword included the $40 horn part upgrade. Other saya will not have this unless the $40 upgrade is chosen. I like how it is done, so I would recommend it! 2. This sword has Rayon and not silk for the ito. It is cheaper but a little more slick. I would still recommend silk for the extra $80 3. The tsuba is now available on the site. It is a premium option and adds $188. The goal of this sword was the following.. 1. Make something forgiving of bad cuts for new students. Really forgiving, like if the katana gets in a slap fight with the tatami mat. 2. Make something I enjoy training with for iaido. Something my size that works well as a practice blade for me and others my size. 3. Make something that looks cool. For me, that means dunking it in a tank of swirly mitsudomoe mon. (it is a Japanese three way yin-yang I have an odd affinity for) 4. Lastly, to keep it between $500 and $3000 hopefully somewhere in the middle. Happy to say the sword achieved all three though, silk ito and a bohi would have helped with the second goal quite a bit. It would also have still been cost effective. As it is, still checks all the boxes quite well.
