This is from my own personal opinions and experiences from using both lenses for extended periods of time. TL;DW. Buy the version III even if you own the version II. It might not seem like much of an upgrade on paper, but the V3 far outperforms the V2 in many ways. BUT. Only upgrade if you can afford it. If you can't, don't sweat it. It's not a necessary upgrade.
