Springfield XD (HS2000) Torture Test in Sand and Mud

Torture testing the Croatian made Springfield Armory XD, chambered in .40 S&W, in dry and wet sand, as well as providing a little commentary on the performance of the firearm. Overall, this gun performed very well, considering that the test is above and beyond what an operator can expect to encounter in the field. The XD has very robust steel rails with large slots in the slide that allow one to easily clear any particulate matter that becomes lodged inside. For this reason, I consider it superior to many modern equivalent firearms in terms of ability to handle sand. It is by no means better than a Glock in every aspect (it definitely doesn't handle rust like a Glock can, nor is is as light and it has a smaller magazine capacity), but I do find it to generally be more aesthetic, more accurate and far more ergonomic.
