In this run we use a couple of buffed perks and weapons with Tactical, along with the Signal Jammer Perk. Ammo Variant Marksman Bolt Carbine was buffed by 11% in 12.0. It now does the same headshot damage (16 with no damage perks) as the Accuracy Variant and does more body shot damage (4). Aside from spread and recoil the ammo variant outclasses accuracy variant in every way. The ammo variant is so ammo efficient we didn't need to take Emperor's Vengeance for ammo regen, allowing us to take Emperor's Judgement which gives us a 20% ranged buff for 10s on finishers(includes gunstrike finishers). We further increase the ranged damage by using the newly buffed Balanced Distribution & Aligned Aim perks. Balance Distribution now increases damage by 15% instead of 10%. Along with Aligned Aim it gives a passive 30% ranged damage. With Emperor's Judgement active it gives a total of 50% damage. On top of that we also have the prestige perk Acuity which can give a total of 15% headshot damage if we land 5 headshots in a row. For the Marksman Bolt Carbine itself we go with max headshot damage perks plus any other regular damage perks. Now we could have further increased ranged damage with Relentless Pursuit , which gives 25% ranged damage for 10s after gunstrike, but we can see there were many moments in the run where chaos spawn spam would have killed me if not for Heightened Vigour , which gives no knockback on perfect parry/block/dodge. We give up a some damage for survivability. And of course we already know auspex increases damage like crazy. We went with battle focus for better melee combat, and also because we picked Signal Jammer we use Auspex at awkward times to get full value, thus not really using auspex as intended. For our melee we went with good old block chainsword. I haven't used block chainsword on tactical in a while, but It still feels amazing. Honestly it might be the best melee on Tactical, especially when paired with battle focus & Heightened Vigour . The burst damage you get after two perfect blocks into full throttle skip light2 into shoulder bash is amazing. The two heroic knives are also great, but they lack the armor regen and stagger from block weapons. Even though I was in massive waves of chaos spawns I was not afraid, you cannot say the same with the heroic knives as any mistake can get you killed. Signal Jammer Critique I tested the Signal Jammer perk in this run and I have some criticisms on it. First how it works: This is the description: "After marking an enemy by Auspex Scan, other enemies cannot call for reinforcement and automatically explode upon attempting to do so for 90 seconds." The part that makes reinforcing enemies explode for 90 only happens when an enemy hit by the initial scan was reinforcing. If it happens properly you will see a perk icon under your armor bar. So if you scan an area and no majoris walks in and calls for reinforcements before the auspex ends you will not get the buff that kills all reinforcing enemies for 90 sec. So to most optimally use it you should only scan when you see a majoris calling for reinforcements, and you must scan that target. Once the buff is in place it is really powerful and you get a lot of value if you get lucky. I've had 5 reinforce calls in a row before on absolute. If used on the Coordinated Calls stratagem modifier it would be very strong as well. Now because of the restriction you will not be using your auspex normally anymore, instead you wait for majoris to reinforce, which is just unomptimal. If you use it normally you are just hoping for a majoris to walk in and reinforce, if there isn't then Signal Jammer gives zero value and you've picked a perk for no reason. But when you are using it to just trigger the 90s kill all reinforcers buff, then you are not getting value from scanning extremis and terminus. You lose value either way. They should rework this perk to trigger the kill all reinforcers buff on just activating Auspex. This way you can get incidental value. You use auspex normally to debuff boses and extremis, and incidentally kill all reinforcers.
