Agios Nektarios Monastery Aegina

Located on a hill in the mountainous region of the island of Aegina - Greece, the Monastery was founded by Saint Nektarios in 1904. Agios Nektarios was known as a great miracle worker, particularly as a healer of different diseases. He was also a prolific writer, theologist, philosopher, moralist, educator, poet, ascetic and mystic. Above all, Agios Nektarios was a man of deep prayer, and a hard worker who laboured just as everyone else around him. In 1904, at the request of several nuns, he established a monastery for women on Aegina named The Holy Trinity, where he lived for the rest of his life as a monk. His memory is celebrated by many many people on the 9th of November, on the nameday of Nektarios. Everybody is welcome to pray and find the healing at the monastery of Saint Nektarios, an unique peaceful and spiritual place.
