If you haven’t fished the Zebra Midge or a variant close to it, you must not like catching fish. This Chironomid or Midge Pupa imitation is a staple for nymphing. Ted Weller is accredited this pattern and found that it was a trout delicacy in the Lees Ferry area and I would say that it works well in Northern Utah and Southern Idaho where I primarily fish as well. The color combinations are endless because of the availability of colors in thread, wire, and beads. You can add a little flash out the end or some coming off the bead. All of which catch fish.
