"Watch this Space" is a little experiment by Dr Stuart Grey of University College London to try and show people what is going on in Earth orbit. In this episode we cover the satellite launches and newly tracked pieces of debris for June 2016. All of the object orbits are taken from real tracking data (from http://www.space-track.org) so every single coloured dot is a real object. The positions and motion of the objects relative to the Earth are to scale but each objects size is greatly exaggerated (otherwise there would be nothing to see!). The objects covered this time are: *New Satellites* GEO-IK-2 21 GEO-IK-2 2 (Musson 2 / Kosmos 2517) is a Russian geodesy satellite launched on the 4th June 2016 from a Rokot-KM launch vehicle. Its primary payload is a radar altimeter which is used to measure precisely the height of the ocean and land beneath it. INTELSAT 31 Intelsat 31 is a geostationary communications satellite launched on 9th June 2016 by a Proton-M Briz-M launch vehicle. Intelsat 31, along with Intelsat 30 provides satellite TV service to Latin America. BEIDOU G7 Beidou G7 is a geostationary component of the Chinese GNSS (Beidou) launched on the 12th June 2016 by a Chang Zheng-3C launch vehicle. Beidou has satellites in both MEO and GEO. ABS 2A ABS 2A is designed to provide 48 Ku-band transponders covering Eastern Europe, Russia, The Middle East and India. It was launched on 15th June 2016 by a SpaceX Falcon-9 launch vehicle. EUTELSAT 117WB EUTELSAT 117W B provides communication services for Latin America. It also carries a Wide-Area Augmentation System (WAAS) designed to enhance aviation safety. It was launched on 15th June 2016. BRISAT The Indonesian BRIsat (Bank Rakyat Indonesia Satellite) is a communications satellite used for banking purposes built by Space Systems/Loral for Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI). It was launched on 18th June 2016. ECHOSTAR 18 EchoStar 18 is a geostationary Direct Broadcast Service (DBS) satellite built for EchoStar Corporation. It replaces EchoStar 10 at the 110° West location. It was launched on 18th June 2016 with BRIsat. *New Debris* BREEZE-KM R/B Rocket Body Debris (ID:41580) . First Tracked 4th June 2016.
