We focus on absorbency, as it's the easier problem to troubleshoot. We explain why microfiber inserts are not ideal and recommend using natural fiber inserts like bamboo, organic cotton, or hemp for better nighttime absorbency. We also demonstrate a layering technique using a heavy wetting insert and another natural fiber insert to create a highly absorbent solution for nighttime cloth diapering. So you want to kind of sandwich this in the middle and as you can see you can actually put as much absorbency here as you need. But here's where the trick comes in. If you have your pocket cloth diaper, most people want to actually tuck this into the pocket. This bamboo is actually a really fast absorber. So one of the things that happens when your baby leaks at night is that they pee so fast, especially if they're older. There's not enough time to absorb before the pee goes out. So what I like to do is instead of sticking it inside, I actually like to lay it on the diaper. And the reason this is is because as soon as baby pees it hits that insert and hitting that insert and having the bamboo layer exposed is actually going to absorb a lot faster than having to go through the lining. If you just put this right against baby, it absorbs a lot better. That's why people like to use all-in-ones a lot for night because it's actually much easier for the diaper to absorb when the absorbent part is touching the baby's skin. Bamboo cloth diapers can touch baby's skin no problem. If you have microfiber inserts, they cannot touch baby's skin as it'll suck out all of the oils from their skin and cause rashes. If you're using our all-in-one diaper, it already comes with the book fold insert. If you have a heavy wetter, exposing the bamboo side to touch the baby's skin is actually going to make it so it absorbs much faster. You have an older baby and you're leaking at night, this could be it. You can add more absorbency here like this. Since we talked about the inserts here, I'm going to show you how to set up a cloth diaper to fit your baby and things to look for that might trip you up with cloth diapers at night. You want to make sure generally that you go up a rise because you're using a lot of inserts in that cloth diaper. So you want to make sure that it looks a little bit bigger than you usually would use for baby on a regular day. Then you're going to sandwich the inserts whichever way you find that's most helpful. I like to have the bamboo exposed because, again, it absorbs faster. And so you go ahead and take that insert, place it on top of the diaper, then place it under baby with the wings approximately at belly button level. Then take your insert and make a U shape around baby's private area and bring the pocket diaper over the inserts and then snap it in place. This is where we're going to see if there are any leg gaps. And you can see there are some leg gaps here. ⁺₊⋆ ☀︎ ⋆⁺₊𝐏𝐎𝐏𝐔𝐋𝐀𝐑 𝐕𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐎𝐒⁺₊⋆ ☀︎ ⋆⁺₊ How to Clean Poop Off Of Cloth Diapers: • How To Clean Poop Off of Cloth Diapers: Si... ⁺₊⋆ ☀︎ ⋆⁺₊ 𝐂𝐎𝐔𝐏𝐎𝐍 𝐂𝐎𝐃𝐄𝐒 ⁺₊⋆ ☀︎ ⋆⁺₊ The Lighthouse Kids Co.
