The Bugatti Bolide was certainly the star of this year's Bernina Gran Turismo, an event born in 2014 with the aim of keep the memory of the legendary Bernina hillclimb race of 1929 and 1930 alive. Brought to the event by The Pearl Collection, with the support of Bugatti itself, it was quite shocking to see this alien-like vehicle in action on the beautiful roads of the Swiss pass. While it may appear to be fitted with a fully exposed black carbon body, the Bolide in this video is actually configured in a matte Steel Blue Carbon, a very dark blue tone used on the Bugatti Chiron Sport 110th Anniversary Edition. During the two-day event the car was driven by both Bugatti's test driver and Le Mans winner Andy Wallace as well as by the owner himself. The Bugatti Bolide was unveiled in late 2020 as an extreme concept of what it could have been a track-only sports car developed by the brand. It was fitted with the same 8-liter quad-turbocharged W16 engine of the Bugatti Chiron, although upgrades to the W16 engine would have allowed the Bolide to generate over 1,800 hp and 1,850 Nm of torque. This monster was thus appreciated by potential customers that Bugatti decided to develop a production version, scheduled for 2024 at a net unit price of €4 million and limited to 40 units. Compared to the concept car, the production Bolide is fitted with a 1,578 hp W16 with a torque figure of 1,600 Nm at 2,250 rpm using 98 RON gas and a kerb weight of just 1,450 kg. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- With a slight refresh among the organizers, this year's edition of Bernina Gran Turismo has reached the 10-year milestone. Compared to the last few editions I attended, Bernina GT 2025 was fully focused on the actual hillclimb instead of celebrating the whole International St. Moritz Automobile Week. In fact the original hillclimb race was part of that event, which consisted of a rally, the kilometer race, a skill race, a concours d'elegance and, as a conclusion, the hillclimb race and was only held in 1929 and 1930. Since 2021 BGT's organizers decided to celebrate the whole International St. Moritz Automobile Week of those two years with a selection of events which recalled the original ones. Even though the whole week wasn't celebrated in 2025 it was still nice to have the Bernina back after a year's break. Bernina Gran Turismo takes place on a section of the original route specifically closed to traffic, with the hilclimb course starting from La Rösa (1,871 m above sea level) and ending up on the actual Bernina Pass (2,328 m) after a total of 5.9 km. Participants can either register for the event in a competitive form or decide to participate in the regularity race, where the ranking is stipulated based on who manages to better respect the speed average set by organizers. 0:00 Close Ups 1:21 Cold Start Up 2:00 Heading to the start line 4:51 Hillclimb action #BerninaGranTurismo #Bugatti #BugattiBolide -------------------------------------------------------------------------- -- Subscribe to my 2nd channel here: / @19bozzy92ndchannel You can also find and follow me on: Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/19bozzy92/ Facebook: / 19bozzy92yt Instagram: / ste19bozzy92 Camcorder: Canon Legria GX10 + Zoom H5 Event: Bernina Gran Turismo 2025 Where: Berninapass, Switzerland Link To My Channel: / 19bozzy92 THANKS FOR WATCHING AND SUBSCRIBE!!!
