Concerns Raised at Plymouth City Council Meeting Over ‘Wuhan Flu’ Comment

Some residents in Plymouth spoke out against Council Member Jim Prom, who used the term “Wuhan flu” to refer to coronavirus infections at a council meeting back in November. The term angered residents who spoke during the public forum portion of Tuesday night’s meeting, with one resident saying “Asian families were intentionally disrespected here in Plymouth.” Prom responded to the concerns. “The point I was trying to make that night is it's a terrible, serious virus,” he said.
