Our coverage of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series from Disney Plus continues TODAY with Part 5 We open with Obi Wan and Anakin pre-Clone Wars in some sort of training session and our hearts are a flutter! If you have not seen this episode please go watch it now and come back to enjoy our reaction. The training session reveals the inner conflict between Darth Vader and Obi Wan. Now Reva gets what she hoped for, promoted to Grand Inquisitor. Jabiim is the destination as the tracker on Leia’s droid, Lola, was super effective on revealing the location of The Path extraction point. Lola locks everyone in and give Vader and Reva plenty of time to arrive. It’s Reva who goes in and attempts to plow through the barricaded doors. It’s here we learn just as Obi Wan does, she indeed was a youngling during Order 66 and is actually on a secret mission for vengeance against Darth Vader, or rather as she remembers him, Anakin. Left alone and battered as a young girl she will stop at nothing to bait Vader with Kenobi and render Vader vulnerable to at last strike him down. Yet, this task proves folly. When the empire and the stormtroopers breakthrough we lose Tala and it shatters our hearts just as it does Obi Wan. Reva alerts Vader in order to set her final trap. But Kenobi knows how to use all elects of the world and it’s occupants as weapons. And so he turns Reva on Vader and on doing so gives him and the The Path plenty of time to getaway. After a spectacular dual Vader shows his great power and his saber skills render Reva helpless much like when she was a youngling. In the end, Reva is left demoted and almost dead in the dirt after she she fails to bring down the monster that Anakin became. As we watch Obi Wan and Leia escape Reva is left with a communicator, the one Obi Wan dropped during the battle. In it she learns of a boy on Tatooine who is living with Owen. And now she has another purpose and drive to stay alive…the thirst for vengeance keeps those on the dark side alive until they satisfy their yearning. What will she do next? And how will Obi Wan keep Luke safe from such a distance? Will the loss of Tala give Kenobi a reason to retreat deep in the desert again? Share your thoughts in the comment section below. LIKE.
