In her talk, Sophie explores the prevalence and adverse effects of athletes hiding their injuries. Sophie Hicks is a student from Mountain Brook, Alabama. This is her second year to give a TEDxYouth@MBJH talk and to participate in the MBJH TED-Ed Club. She is a member of her school's varsity soccer team and spends most of her time on the field or watching the game. When she isn’t consumed by soccer, she is either doing schoolwork, reading, hanging out with her friends, or cooking and baking.
